Smells Like Teen Spirit

The Dj dropped this banger in the club last night during what was advertised as a Latino/Reggaeton night, so much for that. I enjoyed this song though, but there seem to be a lot of dislikes on this video, I actually quite like it. Check it out.

Brown and Gammon

These guys definitely have a very unique sound and I've found myself listening to them a decent amount the past few days to I figured I would toss together a post about them. I really like how their music is for the most part pretty upbeat not so dark and heavy like a lot of dub. It also sounds like you are in an old school video game half the time which brings about a certain amount of nostalgia. If you don't know them check 'em out. Brown and Gammon

Kill The Noise x Yelawolf

Kill The Noise is up there on my favorite Dubstep Artists list. Yelawolf is up there on my favorite current rappers. What is better than mixing them together. Awesome. Good work on this track KTN.

Blake Allee

Blake Allee is an up-n-coming rapper/producer/musician from Indianapolis he has a pretty nice sound and reminds me a lot of sage francis without the major political push and forced vocals. He's definitely got a little ways to go but for the most part his lyrics are on point and the beats are pretty sick. Have a listen!

All in all this mixtape is pretty good and I expect to hear big things form Blake Allee.

And It Happens Again, Skrillex

Its a little ridiculous now my posting about Skrillex but you know I had to. New Video, Dropped like an hour ago. I like his videos he obviously hasn't lost those pent up demons inside of him that he had in FFTL, Enjoy.

Bangarang EP

Skrillex, I know I know, I like him too much but still. The new EP dropped, Bangarang. There are a couple new songs on it and its pretty good. Not some of his best stuff but he has been amazingly busy. Been on a crazy tour schedule and was able to manage a record label in the process. The fact that he has been nominated for 5 Grammys is a testament to his capabilities as a DJ.

Right On Time - Skrillex (ft 12 Planet and Kill The Noise)

Cutline Chase It High

This is a pretty heavy duty track. I only recently found Cutline and I've been listen to them a lot. This song came out the other day and its a pretty incredible remix, I really like the drop, You might say isn't that the whole point of this style of music. Obviously it is but some drops are just ridiculous and this one is a lot more imaginative than most.

Chase It High - Karton (Cutline Remix)

Here is the original for your enjoyment, I really like both versions. Plus this music video is incredible.

Martians vs Goblins

Tyler The Creator, The Game, and Lil Wayne, who I could care less about. I honestly dont even know how Lil Wayne got on this song, his lines are literally soundbites from other songs. On the other hand, Tyler and The Game murder it. If you haven't listened to the R.E.D. Album you need to. Sick album.

I've got a lot of respect for him so listen to this and download the mixtape.

I Have An Obsession With Skrillex

Seriously though, I like a lot of "dubstep" artists, but I just seem to never get enough of Skrillex. I'm really excited for him to release his album, which was supposed to come out a while ago but when some wanker took his laptops and harddrives from his hotel room in Milan it got set back a little, actually to be honest it got set back a lot. There are constantly new songs coming out by him, or remixes of old songs, sick.

New edit of Breathe by Skrillex.

Kim Jung-il Dropping The Bass

Sorry I've been gone for a bit, didn't have internet and was busy wandering around NYC. Pretty amazing city especially this time of year. Did all the good tourist things, went to Rock Center, went to Macys, saw the windows, pretty good time. So a couple days ago I woke to the lovely front page depicting my boy Kim Jung-il's death. I couldn't believe it. Now his psycho son can take the thrown. Anyways, back to the tunes:

From First To Last x Sonny Moore x Skrillex

For those that don't know, and I'm pretty sure a lot of people dont actually know this, Skrillex didn't just pop up out of nowhere on one of Deadmau5' tours. He used to be the lead singer of one of my favorite bands in High School, From First To Last. He left FFTL with vocal problems so he started doing less screaming and more just natural singing but started tossing some experimental beats in there, this was under his actual name, Sonny Moore. Finally that lead into Skrillex. Below is an audio progression starting with FFTL and ending with Skrillex

Secrets Don't Make Friends - From First To Last

Turmoil - Sonny Moore

Dub Phizix

Not entirely sure what they were going for with this video, but if creepy and ominous were on that list they definitely achieved that. I would mainly consider this song Drum'n'bass, actually thats all I would consider it. Listen, enjoy, but be prepared to be a little confused.

Banana, Marijuana, and Piranha. Those are pretty much the only words I can pull out.

The Pro Letarians

"K pimp get this. So back in the day the proletarian group was the group of people that had nothing, were very humble, and worked to get everything they wanted, but hardly got noticed. Kind of how we made a mixtape out of nothing with zero fans or connections. They had to work as a team to get to their ultimate goal, how we roll. But, instead of just being "the proletarians' we make it a play on words since we're good and go with "The Pro Letarians"....cuz we at least think we're 'pro'. Its got a content driven name paired with old school hip hop."

So there you have it. Dorm Room Music is no longer Dorm Room Music. From now on The Pro Letarians are going to be dropping beats and spitting flames.

Here is the latest they have to offer, Before the Snow

Here is a little video all about it:

About Rodway Dubstep

(Rodway Chilling Backstage With Zeds Dead)

Pete Rodway, hailing from Maine, goes to school out in my home state of Colorado and attends University of Colorado at Denver. I called him up yesterday and got to ask him a few questions in a very informal interview on the phone. Not having a good way to record the chat everything is paraphrased and quotes are listed in, obviously, quotes. I asked Rodway how and where he got an interest in dubstep, and from there what made him want to drops some wobble treasures. He said it started in his senior year when friends of his, who were already into the dubstep/drum'n'bass scene, introduced him to it and challenged him to make some. At this point Rodway was mainly a guitar player but had dabbled a bit in mashups, so he wasn't all unfamiliar with electro but not too interested in dubstep. His mashups were done through Garage Band and music tech classes he took in high school. Jokingly he messed with this new style of music put out a few tracks and decided to keep it up, that was almost 4 years ago. I continued on to ask if there was a specific turning point, and in fact there was. It happened at his first ever electronic concert, Bassnecter, and the outcome was phenomenal, "Holy Fucking Shit, I need to step my game up." And he did. Now he plays shows in the Denver/Boulder area and opens for major names. Recently he opened for Zeds Dead at the Ogden Theatre in Denver on November 19th. When asked where he plans on going with his talent the first thing to come up was traveling. Going on tour and spreading the bass. As far as a major at CU-Denver he's undeclared but it sounds like music will be there forever.

For those geeks out there he rocks 2 JBL 5” Monitors, a keyboard, and logic pro for the beat making process, and runs traktor s4 when performing.

I asked him for his favorite songs to conclude this post so here you go:

The Past Year

This isn't a music post or a clothing post, but I hope you will take time to read this and pass it on.

This year was crazy. I don't think it is just me in thinking that an enormously large amount of events happened this year, I know that I wont do it justice and my guess is that I will leave a lot out, but this needs to be recognized, so here I go with my best.

America's Ace of Spades was killed, number uno, Osama Bin Laden. Death of someone who changed our generation forever. There was a strange unity that night, for the youth of America. Yes we rioted, but we weren't rioting for the death of a person, it was an exhale, a movement forward.

--- Devastating droughts in Africa --- Horrendous tsunamis in Japan --- 10 year anniversary of 9/11 --- Occupy across the nation and the repercussions from that. U.C. Davis, Portland --- Massive Tornados ripping through the Central U.S. --- Massive Hurricanes ripping through the Eastern U.S. --- The Slaughter of all those people in Oslo and Utoya --- Earthquakes shaking the world, Japan, New Zealand --- Facebook and Twitter overthrew governments --- Riots in England --- The War continued --- Steve Jobs passed --- Debilitating snow storms in the U.S. --- Gay Marriage legalized in New York (Just another amazing step towards equality) --- The Royal Wedding --- Stem Cells transplant a trachea --- There is potentially water on mars. ---

And around this time next year the world is gonna end. This doesn't apply to everything on that list but is this how we want our world to end, do I actually believe it will end, no, but do I believe in a Spirit of the Times? A Zeitgeist, I sure do. Something is happening, can I tell you what it is? No, but do I have an affect on it, yes I do, as does every single person on this planet. If governments can be over thrown by the organization skills of facebook, who's to say that a nation who is addicted to facebook won't get sparked by a student getting pepper sprayed in the face. A spark that can move a nation to do the same, don't get me wrong, I'm not calling for a civil war, merely saying that as a group we have power and there are plenty of injustices that should be stood up to. Obviously there is nothing we can do directly to stop a natural disaster, but they don't have to be as devastating as they usually turn out. Katrina is a beautiful and terrible example.

I know I'm ranting, and my thoughts seem unorganized, but what I really want to convey is that something is happening, and everyone needs to open their eyes, stand up, and do their part. Whether that is making appropriate decisions that change a nation, or getting good grades in order to get into medical school, or what ever plans you might have after graduation.

If you read this, thank you, I'm not entirely sure for what, but thank you. There is a reason I like the name Have A Nice Day. HAND, you can't do anything without your hands, and in turn you can't do anything without Having A Nice Day. So please have a nice day and again thank you.

Spag Heddy

Well I gotta say, I'm extremely impressed. This guy, Spag Heddy, coming out of the Netherlands, according to his soundcloud, is pretty incredible, its super heavy without being incoherent like most heavy dubstep is. Mixed in there are some more electro/house tracks as well. Favorite song on his soundcloud is definitely Snuk Peasers, too bad its only a preview.

Be sure to show support, I'll try to get to know this guy and possibly get an interview, I will keep you posted, look for an interview with Rodway tomorrow.

Strange Clouds

I do like this song, but at this point I've kinda burned myself out on it. This is the music video that just aired on MTV and I like the new visuals and have two major comments, 1st, at 56 seconds is that Antoine Dodson getting nabbed? Sure looks like it to me. and 2nd, I plan on learning the dance moves at 2:31 and busting them out 24/7.

I'm gonna start to do this from now on, this blog is about getting my clothing press, as well as spreading great new music to the world, so please please LIKE my FACEBOOK page!

Rodway Dubstep

This is the first I've heard about this guy, saw a friend of mine is listed an "industry Liaison" with him on facebook so I decided to check his page out. I really dig him he's got a great sound. He seems to consider himself dubstep based on the classification of his soundcloud and facebook, but his songs are pretty diverse, and a decent amount are just a nice relaxing sound. Below I posted the songs I really like but there are a ton of really great songs on his SOUNDCLOUD and FACEBOOK.

Black Tooth Grin by Rodway Dubstep

Infinite Sky feat. Katy McAllister by Rodway Dubstep

Bass Cannon (Rodway Remix) by Rodway Dubstep

Mattafix - Big City Life (Rodway Remix) by Rodway Dubstep

I promise I will return with another post, more songs, and an interview, letsgo.

Dillon Francis On The Road

I dont give a fuck or shit, (I.D.G.A.F.O.S.), Dillon Francis' most recent master piece, now has some pretty incredible visuals to go with it. Scope it, got Skrillex popping in and out of the frames. This was filmed while he has been on tour with Skrillex, I assume during the Mothership Tour.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

"18% of the women in sweden have at one time been threatened by a man" (opening quote in the first book, gives a tone for the whole series)

I read all the books in that series, super messed up. In case you havent read them I'll give you a little update. They are pretty much about murder, abuse, and rape towards women. Super graphic and extremely well written, but scarily haunting. You've probably seen commercials about how the movie is coming out, well I have to say, I watched the dutch movies that came out a couple years ago, and they are pretty good, but have subtitles. I would recommend watching them over the Americanized version getting released in the next month or so. BUUUUTTT the whole reason for this post is that Trent Reznor, lead singer of Nine Inch Nails, is on the soundtrack. sick.

Fun fact for those that dont know, Hurt as made famous by Johnny Cash was actually written by Trent.
