Tyler The Creator Under Fire

WARNING CONTINUOS EXPLICIT WORDS, whole post

Tyler the Creator, in the media's eyes, is now the black version of Eminem.

So, GLAAD (The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), an LGBT group, has decided to speak out against Tyler The Creator for his word chices. They claim he says the word, or a variation of the word, Faggot 213 times, or at least it is said by someone over the course of his most recent album "Goblin." Lets see how the word is actually used why dont we and the word count.

After listening to and reading the lyrics to Goblin, this is my count (mind you these are approximate number but they are pretty close):

Fag or Faggot - 13 (breakdown below)
Himself - 3
Religious Right Wing - 1
Hating On people who've hated on him - 5
His Dad - 1
Actually against LGBT community - 3

Other Words:
Gay - 1
Homo - 0
Cunt - 2
Pussy - 7

Finally The Grand Finale
Bitch - aprox. 159

I didn't count Fuck or N**** but I imagine they're high.

For a total of around 182, I dont know what other words they were counting.

“I’m not homophobic. I just think ‘fa**ot’ hits and hurts people. It hits. And ‘gay’ just means you’re stupid. I don’t know, we don’t think about it, we’re just kids. We don’t think about that sh*t.” - Tyler The Creator

Like he said Faggot hits people. GLAAD is using Faggot to get people interested, as marketing, so people will read about the article, they are twisting facts to support their own agenda. Don't get me wrong, I fully support the LGBT community, but when an organization, any organization, twists something to benefit themselves its up to other people to actually display the facts. They might not be specifically using it themselves, but other people and bloggers are taking and running with it. If there is really a "problem" word on this album it's Bitch and other misogynistic themes, but since when did the Bitch become a synonym for Faggot? I agree that he could lay off saying so many cuss words but when you are going to go after someone say why, don't say he is homophobic, or imply it. Check your facts.

Trevor ('s Take On Dubstep) Tuesday

I've always been on the fence with dubstep because of how repetitive it tends to be. Fortunately, there are artists like the ones below that take a fresh approach to an increasingly stale yet popular new genre. Boom.

The Vision - Joker

Doncamatic - Gorillaz (Joker Remix)

Beba - Pantyraid

CMYK - James Blake

Thug Story

Not gonna lie, wasn't really a fan of T-Pain until I, we all, discovered his sense of humor with the release of I'm On A Boat (Still one of the greatest things to ever happen)

This song isn't really supposed to be funny but I got a chuckle out of the video, new-ish song from T-Pain
Booty Work - T-Pain ft Joey Galaxy

This beat is dope, Young Fyre, producer is killing it. Music video is a little redic but I'm diggin it.

Thug Story - T-Swizzle & T-Pain

In contention for the best thing ever. Awesome haha. Maybe T-Swizz shoulda been a rapper, there are quite a lot of videos of her busting Rhymes out there.
"You can call me T-Swezzy, now I'm a rap star!"
"You don't wanna fight me in my extra small white tee"

Katrina Music

So since we just "survived" a hurricane I figured it was important to remember and respect the power of nature.

The Little Things Give You Away - Linkin Park

Georgia Bush - Lil Wayne

Imma tell you like george bush told me, F*** y'all N**** I'm outta here - Kanye West

This kind of turned into an Anti-Bush post, not really intentional but Katrina was handled really poorly by the Bush administration.

On a lighter note, Orange County one of my favorite movies ever!

Anti War Music

Pretty self explanatory, anti-war music, there has been a lot of it especially recently and these are some of my favorites.

Camilo - State Radio

Oh my country won't you call out
Doorbells are ringing with boxes of bones
And from another land's war torn corners
To a prison cell in my own
Punish me for not taking your orders
But don't lock me up for not leavin' my home

Hero Of War - Rise Against

A hero of war
Is that what they see
Just medals and scars
So damn proud of me
And I brought home that flag
Now it gathers dust
But it's a flag that I love
It's the only flag I trust

Bin Laden - Immortal Technique ft Mos Def & Eminem

They say the rebels in Iraq still fight for Saddam
But that's bullshit, I'll show you why it's totally wrong
Cuz if another country invaded the hood tonight
It'd be warfare through Harlem, and Washington Heights
I wouldn't be fightin' for Bush or White America's dream
I'd be fightin' for my people's survival and self-esteem
I wouldn't fight for racist churches from the south, my n****
I'd be fightin' to keep the occupation out, my n****

(my own personal art above)

The Carter IV

So tomorrow is the big official release of The Carter IV. Some one asked me today if Im excited, to be honest, no, not really. I like lil wayne but all his pervious albums where alright. Best thing to come out by Weezy was No Ceilings Mixtape. The old mixtapes were pretty sweet the previous albums were ok, and the last one, Rebirth was disgusting. Not in a good way that album sucked so much. Drop the World was sick but I'm over that song. 6'7" was sick but I'm over that too. Too bad it hasn't even come out on the album yet. When Drake was first received and picking up popularity Tunechi put out the No Ceilings mixtape to make sure no one forgot about Weezy. He put it together really quickly, faster than most people put together their best work. But thats the problem with wayne. You can tell he is incredibly talented but he seems to have no motivation and no longevity. I'm sure people disagree with me but I firmly believe that if he decided to sit down and actually put all his energy and focus into his music the result would be the most influential piece of music in the last decade. Will he do it? Hopefully. In the mean time I'll listen I'll appreciate but he will never be among one of the greats until he cuts out the YMCMB shit.

Tranquilly Packing

(if you are wondering who this fuck is, read down below)

Chilling in my room, packing for school, getting pretty stoked. Been listening to some chill music. Pretty decent amount of Imogen Heap. The wind was whipping up earlier and tossing some pretty hefty rain around. Just saw on the news only 7billion in damage, and to quote "Less than originally feared" Um yea ok, cause I've got 7bill to toss around.

Raining - Kaskade & Adam K ft Sunsun

Raindrops - Sash! ft Stunt

Oh and on a side note, I was happily packing, fairly content, but then Greg Mortenson happened. FUCK YOU GREG MORTENSON, FUCK YOU. You helped a lot and did some work you did help a lot of people, but its not ok to use a charity fund as your personal bank account, FUCK YOU.
Greg wrote this book, good book full of great ideas and inspiration, but it is built on a pilar of lies. He has helped build schools all over the world and has been helping a lot, used to be a great man but now he has been lying. He has been taking money out of his charity account, no receipts, hes also been lying about the amount he has helped, as well as the incredible stories he has written about. Lied about being captured by the taliban, lied about money, lied about who he helped, we dont need him anymore. and one last FUCK YOU GREG MORTENSON

Goodbye England's Rose

Just coming back from England I had to post about Princess Diana, one of the most beautiful people to ever walk on this planet. Just an all around stunning and illuminating woman. She had such a profound affect on so many people. When I look back at all the news reports I get shivers up my spine, so here are some songs that give me the chills, good and sketchy.

Requiem For A Dream

If you've never seen this movie you need to watch it, one of my top movies of all time, incredible, absolutely incredible. But as you can tell by the music extremely haunting.
Here is a dubstep-ish remix of Requiem

Sweet Dreams - Emily Browning

Finally, Elton John performing Candle In The Wind. I remember when Princess Diana died, I mean I was only 7 but I remember seeing the news reports and saw the affect it had on my mom, I used to listen to this song all the time and it just grips me. Maybe a little sappy but hopefully someone will appreciate it.

I could listen to this song over and over again. It doesn't mean Marilyn Manroe to me, it means Princess Diana, and it always will.

It's Tuesday and that means its time again for my weekly post. I recently attended Identity Fest (which was doooope) and decided to devote this post to some of the artists that attended the concert (DJ Shadow, Kaskade, and Steve Aoki) as well as a track by an artist (Gui Boratto) that I've kept on constant replay over the past week or so. Enjoy, bitches.

Organ Donor - Dj Shadow

A & E - Goldfrapp (Gui Boratto Remix)

Bobby Ray's High Life

New B.o.B. Video / Song. I absolutely love B.o.B. One of my favorites and will be bumping him on my tricked out Hoveround while I go thuggin' through my retirement community in Florida. In my opinion, remember my opinion, almost anything B.o.B. touches become incredible. Saw him in concert kind of accidentally a couple years ago before "Nothing On You" came out and he was incredible. Great stage presence, talented musician, and really entertaining.

Not gonna lie, wouldn't mind chilling in that pool looking over at the Singapore skyline.

Janelle Monae is incredible, that's all.

Probably not gonna have time or internet to post I promise I will try to get a couple out especially if something pivotal in the music world happens. Hopefully I'll meet really cool people, have fun in the bars, and see a hedgehog. I guarantee you that the phrase "You sound like you're from London!" will come out more than once.

Sweet Harry Potter dubstep! I will be going to Kings Cross Station, and I will go to platform 9 3/4, and I will run through the wall, and you'll never hear from me again, PEACE!

The things Im most excited for about England:
5) Running in to David Attenborough
4) Seeing Harry Potter in real life and making Hermione fall in love with me
3) Not having to hear about football
2) Blowing something up in the riots
1) Going to bars, yea buddy

So that's it for now, have a nice week, we will have Trevor Tuesday on Wednesday next week cause I'll be flying on Tuesday. Keep up the views, send it to your friends, TTFN!

Skrillex Gets Rick Rolled

I figured I would throw all this together for you might be a little much for one sitting but Sonny Moore is getting ready to release a new album under the name of Skrillex. There are so many random song titles and things that have just been thrown around while a lot of people scramble to find new Skrillex, while I was looking I got Rick Rolled a few times, so I figured I would do you a favor, these are the best quality new Skrillex songs that are actually Skrillex songs, not stupid people trying to get views.

True Gangsters - Skrillex

Zoology - Knife Party ft Skrillex

Just Believe - Incontext (Skrillex remix)

Voltage - Skrillex

If you didn't know, several months ago Skrillex was poised to release his album but then his laptops and drivers were stolen from his hotel in Milan, he is currently trying to rebuild all his material and we should be hearing more new stuff from him soon.

Glitch

Opiuo is a fairly new artist coming out of Melbourne, Australia with a strong focus on Glitch. His songs seem to have a certain amount of funk in them as well. He did a remix that I posted before of Ray Charles, it's posted again below because it's so incredible. Also below is the best Glitch music you can get, there isn't even room for discussion, The Glitch Mob is incredible.

Slip - Opiuo

Been rocking out to this song for a few days now, only recently discovered him, his stuff is sick, look up all his other great songs.

Drive It Like You Stole It - Glitch Mob (Mixtape Version)

Original is sick too, but i decided to post the new version.

Alternative Hip-Hop

Title pretty much says it. Hip-Hop songs that have been covered by an alternative band/artist, which lets be honest, almost anything can be described as alternative. Regardless I'm a huge fan of the first two and warming up to the third one, let me know what you think.

Heartless - Kanye West (The Fray Cover)

One of the best remakes ever, ever ever ever. You've probably heard it but still freaking epic.

Day n Night - Kid Cudi (Sugar Ray Cover)

Room mate showed me this freshman year and I've been revisiting it since, great cover.

Whatever You Like - T.I. (Anya Marina Cover)

Song's a lot different, but pretty seductive, I can dig it. I'm a little depressed this was made famous by Gossip Girl (Three way make out scene) but what can you do.

Throwback

I was getting razzed about not having oldies on here so my response it, how bout some Rick Astley, smoothest ginger alive! Guy is a straight up G! Look at those incredible moves!

Also threw in some Duran Duran to please the fans.

I always wondered how she could breathe underwater, but I guess Duran Duran just has that effect on people, as she comes undone.

And of course you gotta end it with the kings of their era! Pet Shop Boys

I honestly used to jam to these. Still do sometimes, deep dark secret of mine.

Bass Cannon

"It sound like a war coming but I ain't chuckin' missiles it just sounds like I got a cannon in my vehicle"

Bust out the big guns, we're loaded for bear with the bass cannon strapped to the trunk and the assault rifles by our feet. Time to pop some eardrums. For those that don't know the expression "loaded for bear" It literally means "loaded for bear." If you came cross a huge Grizzly, its gonna require some pretty substantial ammo to take it down. Those things are like 11 feet tall on hind legs and weigh about 1500 lbs. Anyways, these should help:

Pick Your Poison - Diplo & Datsik

One of my new favorites, shown to me by Trevor, who you'll be hearing from very soon.

Monster - Professor Green (Camo & Krooked Remix)

Older but still sick if you haven't heard it.

I Can't Stop - Flux Pavilion (Chiddy Bang Freestyle)

Sick remix to a sick song.

I am leaving for England in about 27 hours, so I will try to get as many posts in as I can in that time frame! Hopefully I will be able to post from England but chances are low.

AFROKI

No Beef, this song got released a couple days ago and I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't feeling it. So what better to do than put on the Dre Beats and turn it to 11. The reason I didn't like it at first was because of the repetitive Major Lazer tune (I'm not gonna lie, I find Pon De Floor by Major Lazer really really boring.) But after listening to this song a few more times I am starting to dig it. Give it time and some UV light and it'll grow.

No Beef by Steve Aoki and Afrojack

On the off chance you don't know this, well there's no other way to put it than you need to know this. Cause we just hit Turbulence!

Ellie Goulding, coming out of England, Imogen Heap, again from England, Inna, who is Romanian, and Martina Sorbara of Dragonette, hailing from America's hat, Canada, are a powerhouse of stunning vocals which were made for incredible remixes, enjoy these softer dub / electronic tunes.

Jai Paul...Who?

I know nothing about Jai Paul, nor does it seem like anyone else does. British, Songwriter, Producer, XL Recordings blah blah blah. All I can pretty much say is that this song is fairly epic! Doesn't really have that huge build up with a massive drop like most electronic music now but I'm really digging this song. Just listened to it several times before posting it. Defiantly looking forward to see what else he has to offer. Guy has one song on his Soundcloud so we will see what happens in the future, if I find out, I'll let you know.

Dumb Dub

I am warning you about this post. If something is happening at 4 am you know its either going to be epic of really terrible. This might fall somewhere in between. Mind you I would never post a bad song. These are pretty good, just slightly ridiculous. Again it's not bad....but somethings should probably just be left alone. Or at least let someone with more talent try to tackle an incredible movement like Amadeus.

Inspector Gadget - Crispy Remix

Amadeus - Mozart (Rudebrat Remix)

Fur Elise - Beethoven (Dubstep)

In my opinion classical just works. Works with dubstep, works with rap, works with classical. Just so versatile. Anyways I hope you enjoy or at least get a laugh. Btw you're lucky I didn't post 'The lion sleeps tonight' dubstep remix, that just might be too far.

I Know The Truth - Pretty Lights (Bonnaroo Recap)

Fly Like An Eagle - Steve Miller Band (Pretty Lights Remix)

On a side note, Pretty Lights came to UMass for a spring concert for $10 and tons of people were shitting on the line up saying UMass needed a better headliner, WTF Pretty Lights is one of my favorite bands not to mention that B.o.B. and 3oh!3 were also there, I can see you not liking 3oh!3, I love them cause they are from my hometown, but hating on Pretty Lights and B.o.B.!? So, Moombahton...

Moombahton is a new up'n'coming form of music. I will tentatively call it dance music. It's basically dance music slowed down, and by dance music I include Dubstep, Trance, Techno, Glitch, and Electronic, and by slowed down I specifically mean 108 bpm. The creator of this new style of music, Dave Nada, came upon what he later called Moombahton at a party he was invited to Dj for. The music he, at that point, played was fast paced techno, but upon arrival the guests were dancing to the slower beats of Reggaeton. So in an effort to keep with the theme he took Afrojack's "Moombah" and slowed it from about 130 bpm to 108 bpm, "And God said let there be Moombahton." I congratulate Dave Nada for creating a wonderful new form of music but the torch must be passed on. Dillon Francis can be described in one word, Sick. The more I've listened to Moombahton the more I've realized that there are several very different styles of it. More ambient Moombahton where there isn't really a base drop, which dance music generally revolves around, and then there is Moombahton with really massive base drops. Dillon Francis has the really massive base drops. Coming up alongside DF we have Munchi. Munchi is much softer, less bass, more ambient. Both are incredible so sit back, relax, and Moom.

Carnival

Today, while driving to the Cape, I listened to a variety of music including the new release of a Deadmau5 song. pretty ill.
Professional Griefers

(Not that good of quality since its live, DOWNLOAD REAL TRACK HERE Also doesn't have the Daft Punk at the end)
Since I'm driving to Provincetown and gonna be there for Carnival what better to do then rock to some amazing dance music. Here are a compilation of my recent favorites including some Dubstep, Glitch Hop, and Moombathon (If you are wondering what the hell Moombathon is I'll be doing a huge write up on it soon.).

Good Thymes (Ray Charles) Opiuo

Cloud Low (feed me x Ludacris) Smash and Destroy

Take it back remix (Toddla T) Dillon Francis

Sunlight Modestep

On a side note, Skrillex and Deadmau5 went on a concert tour together and half way through one of Skrillex's sets, Deadmau5 came on stage and cut him off... Not gonna give my opinion on that but I would pay more to go see Skrillex than Deadmau5, just saying. But regardless, this song is sick! Download it and Enjoy!

Jack's Mannequin

Just got back from a Jack's Mannequin concert down on the docks in Boston. I must say I was very impressed. Andrew McMahon was jumping on and off his piano, getting the crowd involved during every song and in between awesome awesome concert. Here is my favorite song from them.

Andrew McMahon, frontman for Jack's Mannequin and former frontman for Something Corporate, has really been though rough times. The name for Jack's Mannequin cames from younger brother of a friend of McMahons who was diagnosed and a form of childhood leukemia. In 2005 he was Diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Abbreviated ALL and my own grandfather passed away from ALL). McManons fight with ALL took several years but he has made a full recovery. With songs like "Swim" and "Dear Jack" you get a glimpse into what he was dealing with and what he was thinking. Dear Jack is written for the original Jack and Swim is all about surviving even when hope is dwindling. Full of inspired lyrics and staggering amounts of talent on the keys, Jack's Mannequin is one of my favorite bands. On October 4th they'll be releasing their new album, People and Things, so be sure to check it out.

Watch The Throne

You know the first post had to be a good post.

After listening to the new Jay-z / Kanye West collaboration it became very apparent that Jay's creative juices are starting to dry up. Yeezy is straight killing it, Jay needs Kanye. Dangerous territory I know, Jay is at the top $500,000,000 deep and still selling multi platinum, but since The Black Album, Kanye has been there every step of the way.

Having the album on repeat four songs caught my ear.
1) No Church In The Wild
2) Lift Off (Not a fan, Beyonce just doesn't do it for me)
3) Ni**as In Paris
4) Otis
5) Gotta Have it
Im still listening to the whole album but these are my favorites so far. The intro on No Church gives my chills then Hova comes in with a killer first line, "Tears on the mausoleum floor, Blood stains the Colosseum doors, Lies on the lips of priests, Thanksgiving disguised as a feast."

Otis. The video is a little childish but you know what, turning a Maybach into a stunt car! Great idea. Million dollar idea, literally. I can't even imagine how much that car is going to sell for. One of a kind, used by two of the greatest rappers of all time! Car's value before the stunt team was around 400K if it doesn't sell for at least 800k if not a Milli, I'll be very surprised. Great for those feeling the repercussions of the East African Drought Disaster.
